His ministry and leadership experience includes serving as a church planter, senior pastor, missionary, Bible school instructor, hospice chaplain, nonprofit leader, and national ministry board member. Elmo has taught and served throughout the United States and internationally in Russia, Kenya, and Mexico.

Elmo is the founder of the Men’s UNITY Breakfast, a Christ-centered gathering created to bring men from different racial, cultural, generational, and denominational backgrounds together. Through honest conversation, relationship building, spiritual development, and community service, participants are encouraged to move beyond attending meetings and begin practicing unity in everyday life.

As a speaker and facilitator, Elmo helps churches, ministries, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders address difficult subjects with biblical clarity, practical wisdom, and respect. His presentations are designed to move audiences beyond inspiration alone. Participants leave with principles, questions, and practical next steps they can apply within their ministries, organizations, and communities.

Elmo is the author of several books on discipleship, biblical unity, evangelism, dialogue, and healthy living. His works include Growing by Going: A New Approach to Being an Effective Witness, Overcoming Racial and Cultural Barriers to Disciple Men, and Dynamic Dialogue: Conversations Provoking Action!. He is also a contributing author of How to Disciple Men.
Elmo and his wife and ministry partner, Therese, live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
